Allsorts Consulting and Training Pty Ltd is a company that provides high quality downloadable courses and training and consulting services to individuals and businesses.
We are very fortunate to have a pool of training and consulting specialists whose expertise covers a wide range of technical and professional areas. Some of our people hold PhD qualifications, and some MBAs. Other qualifications are in the fields of Training and Education, IT, Technical, Manufacturing, Engineering, Oil and Gas, HR and Indigenous fields. Every one of our consultants have held prominent positions in (or have provided extensive consulting services to) most industries. Many have extensive international experience. Therefore we are able to offer a wide range of knowledge and experience and research which translates into our courses and training and consulting services. Karen has 25 years experience in providing consulting and training services to Governments and companies throughout the world. Passionate about helping people to improve their knowledge and skill she has worked with people from all socio-economic and educational backgrounds. Karen has delivered training and consultancy services to more than 800 companies and has provided troubleshooting services to enhance organizational performance both nationally and internationally. She has been a guest lecturer at numerous Universities including the Universities of Michigan, Philippines, NSW, Florida and Charles Darwin University. She draws upon an extensive background in management, including her experience in leading organizations through rapid growth and fundamental change. Karen has worked with a wide range of people from Boards of Directors, to white and blue collar workers to the so called disadvantaged sector- including people who have physical and intellectual disabilities, the long-term unemployed, indigenous and the aged in her quest to help make meaningful education available and non-elitist. She is currently working on her PhD in the dual fields of Management and Education.
Garth has worked in the Energy Industry for 25 years. He was the General Manager of, and alternate Director for, NT Gas and was the State Manager Western Australia for Agility (a subsidiary of the 8 billion dollar Australian Gas Light Company).Garth has a history of achieving outstanding business development and growth for the areas under his influence. He has extensive experience in all aspects of organizational, cultural and commercial business activities. He is equally at home working with industry regulators, government officials, indigenous and other stakeholders as he is working on site with team members Garth is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Chairman of the WA Chapter of the Australian Pipeline Industry Association, is a Director of two companies and 'in his spare time' is completing an MBA.

Ian holds the Chair of Rural and Remote Education in the Faculty of Education, Health and Science (EHS) at Charles Darwin University. From 1997-2001 he was Director of a national Key Centre for Research and Learning in Regional Australia (CRLRA) at the University of Tasmania and prior to that has held various roles before that including Sub-Dean of Adult and Vocational Education. He previously spent 2 years at Griffith University (Qld) as lecturer in charge of developing and delivering various communication, workplace literacy and learning courses. In 1991-2 he was the Queensland State Government policy officer for adult language, literacy and numeracy. Ian's research is in issues related to education, formal and informal learning policy and practice, with a national and international track record in sociology, social and community development and well-being, social capital research, learning communities, regions and cities, leadership, in policy development, theory and practice, adult literacy, socio-linguistics and ethnomethodology. He has written and had published a myriad of papers, & research reports and is the author of several books. He is highly respected both as a researcher and mentor.

Ruth has worked in the Vocational Education & Training sector, particularly with trainees ans in the development of the new apprenticeship system for almost 10 years. She also has significant experience in primary and secondary education. She has worked across community services, including aged care, alchohol and other drugs counselling, disability, community management, tertiary preparation, justice studies, admin and management, health care packages and courses - all with Indigenous people. Ruth is the research manager for the Learning research Group at Charles Darwin University. Her areas of expertise include: Literacy and numeracy; Regional and remote education; Online and flexible delivery; Community management; VET education; culture and language in education; Identity and indigenous Education. Ruth is currently completing her PhD.

Colleen has ten years of international Human Resources experience working with top tier companies in the financial and resource sectors. An accomplished HR Generalist, she provides extensive expertise in providing a wide range of HR solutions. Colleen's exceptional track record of introducing effective HR solutions is based on her philosophy of developing effective relationships to ensure the business recognizes the importance that HR matters plays within a successful organization. She is known for her ability to engage the business, create innovative solutions and develop professional relationships with both management and staff. Colleen has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Rhodes University (South Africa) and a Psychology Honours degree from the University of South Africa.

John's research interests stem from several years of experience as a training and assessment consultant. His PhD research (and much of past research) and interest is in the relationship between well-being (health, employment, leisure, economic, environmental, social, safety) and learning. John is competent working with both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and frequently combines the two in mixed deductive/inductive approaches. The connections between health and learning are of particular interest in a number of local evaluations of Communities for Children and Invest to Grow programs, that John is involved with both in the Northern Territory and Tasmania. He has also participated in evaluations relating to Family and Domestic Violence and research that explores pathways to employment and training for Indigenous people in the desert region of Central Australia and employment disadvantaged people generally in the Northern Territory. In Tasmania, he has consulted for organisations such as the Salvation Army exploring the linkages between homelessness, mental health and learning. John has written many papers and research articles many of which have been published.

C.W. began studies in the field of Psychoneuroimmunology, and created a series of seminars based on helping people understand the relationship of physical and psychological health. In the mid-80's, his work began attracting global business clients who were trying to cope with a new world of stress, change and crisis. He. established and continues to operate the consulting firm of Metcalf & Associates specializing in Stress and Change Management for a global client base.. His articles have appeared in over 30 journals, magazines and highly respected literary publications. His book, Lighten Up, Survival Skills for People Under Pressure, Addison-Wesley, 1992, is now in it's 33rd printing, and his video series are available in 12 languages. A sample of clients includes: Bank One, General Electric, IBM, Mayo Affiliate Hospitals, Oregon Association of Physicians, Saturn Motors, US Special Forces, Turner Broadcasting, Warner Brothers, and over five hundred other US, South American, European, Australian and Asian companies.
